Royksopp – Royksopp Forever
Album: Junior
Here’s another one from Royksopp’s album, Junior. Great blend of synth and symphonic music here. Had to post this one.

I’m not thrilled about posting this one, but the label’s sent out some takedown notices to people posting songs other than this so I’ll respect that. Though, would it be better for the band if I post a bad promotional song, or a song on the album that’s good but one they aren’t wanting to give away? They’ve decided with the former, but I’m not sure how many fans they get out of me posting a song and saying it sucks. If you want to hear a good song go to iMeem – Humbug and listen to Dance Little Liar. For the record this album came out this past week.

Here’s one from back at the start of the year. Miike Snow is a Swedish band, and this is from their debut album. This single has a heavy beat, with some syncopated rhythms, both of which are qualities I like in the right context. Still, maybe a bit jovial of a chorus for me.

I can’t give enough love to Spoon. I’m also in a bit of a rut finding new music after listening to the Ramona Falls album too much in the last week to find anything. So I’m taking the day off and posting one of my favorites.

This song is from Temper Trap’s debut album. You may recognize it from the trailer for 500 Days of Summer, which is unfortunate but also probably why it’s gotten my attention. Well, I hope you like this more than I do, because honestly this post is just an attempt to be trendy.

OK so I couldn’t think of a song to post today. I’ve been hearing The Antlers more on the radio recently so I thought a repost was merited in lieu of a crappy, but newer song. This is off of the same album as the past post we did. If you get a chance to hear the whole album it’s pretty solid, particularly if you are a lyric buff, which I am not.

Ramona Falls is band formed this year by Brent Knopf of the trio Menomena. The album came out yesterday and it’s very good — I haven’t been this excited about hearing a new band in a long time. I have to give a shoutout to the indie street cred guys for posting this first. The entire album is streamable (for now) here http://www.barsuk.com/media/xspfwindow/bark090.

New Flaming Lips song from a new upcoming LP. Classic At War with the Mystics Flaming Lips here. I’m sort of ambivalent.

We’ve posted a song from this album already here but since they’re playing at Cat’s Cradle tonight in Chapel Hill I thought it would be appropriate to post them again. This is a Spoon-ish song off their latest album and is one of my favorite of the group.
